Canal Walk will be hosting their 11th Bridal Fair from 24 to 26 February. Happily engaged couples will once again have the opportunity to inspire their senses at the Canal Walk Bridal Fair, one of Cape Town’s most popular and prestigious bridal fairs. The Canal Walk Bridal Fair will offer a fabulous prize valued at nearly R160 000 sponsored by the spectacular “In the Vine” venue and the stunningly creative “La Maison”. The prize will include a variety of superb requirements for a dream wedding reception. The Spier Harvest Festival will be taking place on 25 February, in Stellenbosch. The lawns in front of Eight—Spier’s new ‘farm-to-table’ restaurant—will be transformed into a wine wonderland. Adults can lounge under the trees and enjoy great food and wine, while children join in a host of interactive games. Gerald Clarke and his band will entertain with guitars, cellos, accordions and singers. Tickets cost just R70, for adults, this includes a tasting of two of Spier’s award-winning wines and a special edition wine glass. For children, this ticket price includes entrance for five games. The Nederburg Harvest Day is also taking place on 25 February, in Paarl. Join the fun and festivities at Nederburg’s harvest day and participate in creating some of the winery’s award-winning wines. On arrival, you’ll be treated to a refreshing glass of sparkling wine. Then it’s over to the expert harvesting team, who’ll teach you how to hand-pick perfectly ripened grapes. You will get to taste freshly pressed grape must, the fermenting juice, as well as some tank samples of wine, following the journey from the vineyard to the bottle. After harvesting, a scrumptious barbeque-style brunch and some fine Nederburg wines will be served on the rolling lawns in front of the historic 19th century Manor House with spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards and majestic Drakenstein Mountains. Tickets cost R185 per adult, which includes the barbeque-style brunch and a bottle of Nederburg wine, from the Foundation or Winemaster’s Reserve ranges, per couple) and R55 per child under the age of 12.
