A firm favourite on the Western Cape’s calendar is the the annual Community Chest Carnival. Now into it’s 59th edition, the carnival takes place over four days and is a celebration of food, local entertainment and family fun, all in the name of a good cause.

This even will be held at Maynardville Park in Wynberg, from 29 February to 3 March. The carnival is made possible through the efforts of over 7000 volunteers who donate their time and skills to ensure that each year’s event is even better than the last one. This year there will be a strong focus on ground entertainment such as drummies, stilt walkers and jugglers.

The Community Chest Carnival is a popular event, amongst both locals and visitors from around the globe. The carnival started as a theatrical garden party many years ago and has since grown into one of the greatest annual family events in Cape Town.

The Community Chest supports hundreds of social welfare organisations throughout the Western Cape. All proceeds of the carnival will go towards the Community Chest.
