This festive season the world’s most famous sea sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants will entertain all his fans both young and old, when he comes to life on stage in the international theatrical production of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants: The Sponge Who Could Fly.
The fun-filled show promises colourful action as SpongeBob pursues his life-long dream to fly with the Pacific Ocean jellyfish. SpongeBob is assisted in his endeavours by the much loved Bikini Bottom gang: Sandy Squirrel, cantankerous Squidward Tentacles, the ever robust Mr Krabs and SpongeBob’s best friend Patrick Star.
The show was written by Steven Banks, head writer and story editor of the television series and features original songs and adaptations from composer and lyricist Eban Schletter.
Gip Hoppe is responsible for original direction and Jenn Rapp for original choreography, David Gallo for set design, Mirenda Rada for costume design and Paul Rubin for the design of the flying sequence.
Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants: The Sponge Who Could Fly is proudly brought to South Africa by Broadway Asia Entertainment in association with DStv and Sun International.
Tickets cost between R100 to R200 and show times vary between 14h00, 15h00 and 18h00 depending on the day.
